Back to Normal

My sink disposal got fixed yesterday. I'm very happy. The plumber said he'd never seen such a bad leak before. The important thing is that it's fixed and done with. Yay! Now that the house drama is taken care of, I can share with you my Christmas yarn goodness. I got a lot of yarn. RM got me the Nordic mitten Rosenborg kit in a deep purple and slate gray colorway. He also got me that full bag of Jaeger Shetland Aran in a pretty pumpkin spice color. My parents gave me some money to spend on yarn, so I picked up a bag of Rowan All Season's Cotton in a discontinued color called Eden. My MIL bought me 5 skeins of Malabrigo in Geranio. It's so soft, and I have enough for a sweater! Thanks, Mom! I also picked up the Handknit Holidays book from Amazon, and a traditional mitten book. It was a very knitty holiday! Now, I just need to decide on projects for it all. I realize that I haven't done any movie reviews lately. We haven't seen very many good movies lately, but I do have two movies I can recommend. Four Brothers, directed by John Singleton, is an entertaining movie. It's violent but a very good story about four adopted brothers trying to figure out who murdered their adopted mother. I also recommend The Great Raid, the movie about the real liberation of a WWII POW camp in the Philippines. I wouldn't call it one of the best war movies ever made, but it was interesting. Other than that we've been watching the 5th season of CSI. I won't be updating the blog until after the New Year. We're off to a wedding in Sand Diego this weekend. Have a nice and safe New Year's everyone!

So glad to hear that the disposal got fixed so quickly! And Holy yarn porn gorgeousness!! What an awesome and well-deserved yarn haul! I especially love that Rowan in Eden (why would they discontinue such a gorgeous color??). RM did so well with that Jaeger, too- I'm very impressed. ;-) Can't wait to see all the fabulous stuff you knit up from the Melanie Falick and mitten book! Take care and Happy New Year to you!! :-)

some day I'll have to train my family to buy me yarn. Then again, maybe not! I'm so picky when it comes to yarn.

Great loot! I have been hearing so much about Malabrigo. Might need to drop big hints for my birthday.

Happy New Year and enjoy that disposal! :)

p.s. You know, there's a Handknit Holidays KAL. That book is amazing.

Yay for getting the disposal fixed! You never know how much you rely on something until it goes on the fritz.

Hi, found my way here from a comment you posted on Amylovie's blog (I found her through Ruth's Knits) and thought I would stop by and say hello from Canada.

What a great yarn Christmas you had. It certainly must have helped with the disposal catasophy. I LOVE the Eden color -it will look fab in whatever you decide to make. Just the word Malabrigo send shivers of joy up and down my back. It is THE most gorgeous yarn. The colors are stunning and the hand dreamy. Enjoy!
